Maine scored three runs in the opening frame, starting off with an RBI single by
Hunter St. Denis to score
Nic Pepe (BB).
Albert De La Rosa drove in St. Denis (1B) with a double down the left field line before he scored on an RBI groundout by
Chris Bear.
Aidan Bardi brought home
Juju Stevens (BB/E1) as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the third inning.
Drew Reynolds drew a bases loaded walk one batter later to score
Brody Rasmussen (1B/E1).
Jack Quigley capped off the five-run third inning with a three-run triple to right field, scoring Bear (BB), Bardi (HBP) and Reynolds (BB).
Stevens (E5/SB) scored on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.
Maine put up five runs in the eighth inning to end the game via mercy rule, starting off with an RBI single by Stevens to score Quigley (HBP/SBx2).
After an RBI single from De La Rosa, the Black Bears drew three-straight bases loaded walks to conclude the game.
Pitching Breakdown:
Erik Swenson went two and 1/3 innings in the start, allowing two runs on two hits, four walks and five strikeouts.
Jack Donlin (2-0) went an inning and 2/3 while allowing one run on two walks and four strikeouts.
Tommy Martin pitched two innings allowing no runs on two hits, one walk and five strikeouts.
Rex Hauser pitched the final two innings, allowing no runs on no hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
