Black Bears complete sweep of Warriors

Maine picked up a 5-2 win.

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's ice hockey team earned a 5-2 win over Merrimack on Saturday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Alfond Arena.
 
Josh Nadeau had his second straight four-point game with two goals and two assists while Brandon Holt added our helpers and Owen Fowler had two goals and one assist.
 
After Merrimack took an early 1-0 lead, Nadeau's first of the night brought the game back even. The Warriors, though, would strike again to take a 2-1 lead into the break. Miguel Marques scored on the power play 75 seconds into the second period and then Fowler's first of the night gave Maine its first lead of the night. Nadeau scored on the power play with two minutes to go in the period to cap the three-goal second. Fowler's second of the night – another power-play tally – with 2:12 to play gave the game its final 5-2 scoreline.
