Maine Competes in Two Meet Weekend

Boston, Massachusetts - The Maine women's track and field program competed at the the Terrier Classic on Friday January 30 and Harvard Invitational on Saturday January 31.

Harvard Invitational Results:

Amy Rein finished 23rd overall in the 3000m event with a time of 10:55.57 and Emily Bishop finished 28th overall with a time of 10:59.89 in the same event.

Terrier Classic Results:

Bayleigh Shanahan and Callie Tennett opened up the afternoon in the open portion of the 60m dash. Shanahan finished 17th with a time of 8.15 and Tennett finished 27th with a time of 8.38.

Shanahan would then compete in the open portion of the 200m event, finishing 59th overall with a time of 26.31, Catherine Primavera finished 64th overall with a time of 26.40.

In the 400m open, Maddie Cyr finished 51st overall with a time of 1:00.43 and Primavera finished 56th overall with a time of 1:01.25.

Toni Vaillancourt finished as Maine's top finisher in the 800m open with a time of 2:17.12, finishing 48th overall. Meredith Walters finished 49th overall with a time of 2:17.28.

In the mile, Kara Tschida finished 88th overall with a time of 5:07.45 and Abby Rodriquenz finished 109th overall with a time of 5:11.44.

Ruby Krasnow and Lila Garbett finished as Maine's top two finishers in the 3000m open. Krasnow finished 42nd overall with a time of 9:40.63 and Garbett finished 100th overall with a time of 10:19.15.

In the 5000m open, Veselja Treacy finished 24th overall with a time of 16:57.68 and Megan Randall finished 35th overall with a time of 17:14.62.

In the field events, Athena Cusson would finish 19th overall in the high jump with a height of 1.43m (4' 8.25") and 11th overall in the long jump with a distance of 5.16m (16' 11.25"). Saphryn Humason finished 10th in the long jump event with a distance of 5.20m (17' 0.25") and 9th overall in the triple jump with a distance of 11.34m (37' 2.5"). Lydia White finished 19th overall with a height of 3.06m (10' 0.5"). Julia Bassi finished 10th overall in shot put with a distance of 12.54m (41' 1.75"). Cheyenne Figueroa finished 3rd in the weight throw event with a distance of 17.26m (56' 7.5"). Ava Zollars finished 14th in the weight throw with a distance of 13.83m (45' 4.5").

The Black Bears are back in action on Saturday February 7th and Sunday February 8th as they compete in the IC4A Championships.
