Max Scott scored three minutes, 14 seconds into overtime to lift the #17 University of Maine men's ice hockey team to a 6-5 win over UMass Lowell at the Tsongas Center on Saturday night.

The Black Bears raced out to a 3-0 lead by the 7:09 mark of the second period thanks to scores from
Sully Scholle,
Thomas Pichette and
Miguel Marques.

The River Hawks responded with five unanswered goals. UMass Lowell scored three times in the middle frame for a tie game after two periods and then scored twice more in the first 10 minutes of the third period.

Will Gerrior got Maine back within a goal and then less than three minutes later,
Loic Usereau wristed home his first career goal to send the game to overtime.
Charlie Russell then set up Scott's one-timer for the 6-5 win.
