PROVIDENCE, R.I. –  The #12/14 University of Maine men's ice hockey team fell to #18/17 Providence College, 2-0, on Saturday night at Schneider Arena.

The teams played a scoreless first period before the Friars used a short-handed goal to take a 1-0 edge midway through the second period.

Providence then capitalized on a third-period turnover to double the lead before capping the scoring with a power-play goal late in the frame.
