Men's Cross Country third in America East preseason poll

Black Bears open the season Friday morning at Saxl Park

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's cross country team has been selected third in the America East preseason coaches poll, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

Maine is coming off a season in which it finished second at the America East Championships.

The defending champion UMass Lowell was selected first in the poll with 64 points and eight first place votes. The River Hawks were followed by Binghamton which checked in second in the poll with 52 points. Maine rounded out the top three with 50 points and one first place tally followed by UMBC and New Hampshire tied at fourth with 39 points apiece. Vermont checked in sixth with 34 points.

Maine opens the 2025 campaign on Friday morning when it hosts Army at Bangor's Saxl Park. Start time is set for 8:45 a.m.

This year's America East Men's Cross Country Championship will hosted by UMass Lowell on Friday, Oct. 31 at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. The championship will be broadcast live once again in 2025.
