ORONO, Maine – University of Maine Athletics will introduce a new procedure and set of policies for the men's hockey season ticket waitlist beginning with the 2025-26 season.

The Black Bears have led Hockey East in sellouts for two consecutive years and thanks to this dedicated fan support, season tickets for the men's hockey program have been sold out since the 2024-25 season. The waitlist has been created to provide an organized and fair process for fans to have the opportunity to purchase men's hockey season tickets when they become available and receive other benefits for joining. 

The season ticket renewal process will remain the same. For those fans currently on the waitlist and those looking to join, there will be an annual $50 commitment to reserve a spot. 

Season Ticket Renewals
The process to renew season tickets remains the same. Season ticket holders will be contacted when renewals are available and will have up until the deadline approximately three months later to reserve their seats. This year, renewals will open on Tuesday, April 22 and the deadline is Friday, June 27.  

Waitlist
In order to join or maintain your current spot on the waitlist, there will be an annual commitment of $50. The yearly deadline to commit will be June 30. The waitlist closes on June 30 and will re-open for the following season beginning Aug. 1. 

For the 2025-26 men's hockey season, current and new waitlist members can begin making their $50 commitments on May 1, 2025. The waitlist for the 2025-26 season will close on June 30, 2025. The list will reopen for the 2026-27 season on Aug. 1, 2025. See below for future waitlist timelines and dates. 

The annual $50 commitment is per name on the list, not per number of seats someone is looking to purchase (ex: if someone would like to purchase four seats, they will need to annually commit $50, not $200). Your annual $50 commitment will be used to support Maine Athletics and our student-athletes.  

The waitlist has been built in chronological order, by initial date and time of joining the list. You can find out your spot on the waitlist by emailing um.tickets@maine.edu or calling 207-581-BEAR.

After the season ticket holder renewal deadline passes and season ticket inventory potentially becomes available, ticket office staff will begin contacting waitlist members during the month of July. If you are not able to purchase tickets in a given year, you will remain on the waitlist and be alerted of your numerical placement. 

Perks for joining the waitlist include early access to single game ticket sales (while supplies last), exclusive access to visiting team returns (if available) before they are released to the general public, and invitations to exclusive events (when available).  

Maine Athletics reserves the right to modify/update policies at any point.

Future Waitlist Timeline
For the 2025-26 season, you will maintain your spot on the waitlist and have access to waitlist benefits if you make your annual commitment anytime between May 1, 2025 and June 30, 2025. 

For the 2026-27 season, you will maintain your spot on the waitlist and have access to waitlist benefits if you make your annual commitment anytime between Aug. 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. 

For the 2027-28 season, you will maintain your spot on the waitlist and have access to waitlist benefits if you make your annual commitment anytime between Aug. 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027.
