ORONO, Maine – University of Maine head football coach Jordan Stevens has announced the hiring of head football sports performance coach, Jared Shibley.
"Coach Shibley is a great coach with a passion for strength and conditioning," Stevens said. "Coach Shibley will train our players mentally and physically and continue to make Maine Football a leader in player development."
Sibley joins the Black Bears with a collection of experience in strength and conditioning from a variety of different fields including Owasso high school, COMPETE Strength & Conditioning organization, his alma mater Springfield College, and football specific internships at the University of Minnesota, the University of Rhode Island, UConn, and Georgia.
Most recently, Sibley served as the assistant strength and conditioning coach for one year at Owasso where he designed and led all preseason, in-season, and postseason training for a variety of programs including football.
While with COMPETE, Shibley ran group training sessions focused on speed and agility training, strength and power development, and conditioning with athletes including football, lacrosse, soccer, hockey, and field hockey.
Shibley was the head strength and conditioning coach at Springfield College from Aug. 2023 through May of 2024. During this time, Shibley designed all facets of the Springfield College football program's speed, strength, and conditioning development with the assistance of Catapult PlayerTek software to track individual student-athlete practice and game data.
