Maine completes weekend sweep of Lindenwood

The Black Bears earned a 7-2 win at Alfond Arena.

ORONO, Maine – The #15/18 University of Maine men's ice hockey team skated to a 7-2 win over Lindenwood on Sunday afternoon at Alfond Arena.
 
Maine took 1-0 lead less than 90 seconds into the game thanks to Justin Poirier . The Lions scored 27 seconds into the second period to tie things up.

Owen Fowler's short-handed goal at the 12:00 minute mark of the second period gave Maine a 2-1 lead and started a stretch of six unanswered goals for the Black Bears.

Jaden Lipinski and Thomas Pichette gave Maine a 4-1 lead after two frames and then Thomas Freel, Poirier and Lukas Peterson stretched Maine's lead to 7-1 with less than five minutes to play in the third. The Lions scored late in the final frame for the 7-2 final.
