ORONO, Maine – The #10/8 University of Maine men's ice hockey team fell to Vermont, 2-1, on Saturday night in Hockey East action at Alfond Arena.
The game marked Maine's eighth straight sellout at Alfond Arena to open the 2025-26 season.

Vermont scored on the power play midway through the first period to take the lead into the intermission.
Will Gerrior equalized for Maine with 5:16 to play in the second period.

The Catamounts, though, found the back of the net 90 seconds into the third period and would hold off the Black Bear rally for the 2-1 final.
