ORONO, Maine – Maine Athletics and Waterfront Concerts have partnered together to present a Maine Hockey Fan Festival on Friday, Oct. 10 with appearances from Barstool Sports' Chiclets University and a free concert from country act, 12/OC!
The exciting day of hockey will begin at 2 p.m. when the women's hockey team officially opens the renovated Alfond Arena by hosting Saint Anselm. For tickets to the women's hockey game, please click here.
Following the women's game, fans are encouraged to join Black Bear Nation at Alfond Stadium (Morse Football Field) for an exciting pregame fan festival complete with a variety of food truck options along with alcoholic, for those 21+, and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase, inflatables and lawn games as part of the Kids Zone, and more!
All alcohol purchases will be limited to a maximum of two drinks per person at any one time. To ensure responsible service, all serving staff are TIPS-certified (Training for Intervention Procedures) and will work closely with security staff to confirm valid identification. Once identification is verified, patrons will receive a wristband upon entry into each alcohol-purchasing location.
The program will open following the conclusion of the women's hockey game with a preview of Maine Hockey by the voices of the Black Bears, Jeff Mannix and Jon Shields, before a special appearance from Barstool Sports' Chiclets University personalities where the group will preview the men's hockey season opener and the upcoming college hockey slate. The Chiclets team will be joined on stage by special guests including men's hockey head coach Ben Barr, representatives from the women's hockey team, and more!
At 5 p.m., Portland, Maine natives and Nashville based band 12/OC will take the stage at Alfond Stadium for a free concert of feel-good country with a fresh edge! With tight harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, and undeniable energy, they've been lighting up stages across New England and turning heads wherever they play. From small-town gigs to sold-out hometown shows, 12/OC has become a fixture in the Maine music scene.
Doors to Alfond Arena will open at 6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to arrive early to explore the beautiful new plaza, the renovated concourse, new concessions stands, and the Hockey Champions Room!
Puck drops between Maine and Holy Cross at 7 p.m.
