Lulu Rucinski of the Maine women's ice hockey team were tabbed as Hockey East Goaltender and Defender of the week, respectivly, Hockey East announced Monday.
After the weekend split with #8 Colgate, goaltender
Kiia Lahtinen racked up 75 saves on 80 shots-faced for a weekend save percentage of 93.8%. Lahtinen has started in all seven games so far this season as she leads all Hockey East goaltenders in saves, with 260, which puts her second in the nation. This week's award accounts for third Hockey East weekly accolade.Â
Rookie
Lulu Rucinski was named Defender of the week after she scored her first career goal on Friday and added an assist for a two-point weekend. Rucinski was +1 on the weekend and took four shots on goal and recorded seven blocks. Rucinski leads Hockey East in blocked shots with 18 total this season.Â
