AMESBURY, Mass. – University of Maine junior Brandon Chabrier has been named the Hockey East Co-Defender of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league office.
 
Chabrier led the conference with eight blocked shots and added two assists over the weekend as Maine split a series with #6 Denver. The Bayville, N.Y. native, who had a game-high four blocked shots in both games, assisted on both of Maine's goals in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Pioneers. He also tied for the Hockey East lead among defensemen with six shots on goal on the weekend.
 
This marks the fourth career weekly honor for Chabrier, who was named the Hockey East Defender of the Week three times last season.
