ORONO, Maine - University of Maine forward
Adriana van de Leest has been named the Hockey East Co-Player of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league office.
Van de Leest tallied three points in Maine's 3-2 victory over Harvard on Friday, scoring two goals and assisting the game-winning goal in overtime. Van de Leest's first goal came from an unassisted breakaway, while her second was from a one-timer on the powerplay. The overtime game winner came just 32 seconds into the extra period, when van de Leest found
Lily Fetch in front, as Fetch found the back of the net. Van de Leest had a career high of eight shots on goal, which accounted for 27% of the team's total shots on goal (30). She also blocked two shots in Friday's game.Â
This marks Van de Leest's first Hockey East weekly honor, as her other time earning a Hockey East award was for Player of the Month in December.
