Boija earns Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week honors

Boija backstopped Maine to a top-10 road sweep at UMass Lowell

AMESBURY, Mass. – University of Maine sophomore Albin Boija has been named to Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league office.
 
The Sundsvall, Sweden native backstopped Maine to a top-10 road sweep this past weekend at #8 UMass Lowell. Boija made 26 saves in Friday night's 3-1 win, including 12 in the first period. On Saturday night he made 25 saves, including 15 in the third period, of the 2-1 win to clinch Maine's first top-10 road sweep since January 2020.
 
Boija had a 1.00 goals against average and .962 save percentage to go with his 51 total saves. He was one of two goaltenders in the country to earn two wins while also recording more than 50 saves and a goals against average of 1.00 or lower.
 
This is the fourth career weekly honor of the season for Boija, who earned one each of Goaltender of the Week, Defender of the Week and Rookie of the Week last season.
