Box Score Albany, NY - The University of Maine defeated the Great Danes of UAlbany on Saturday evening in overtime, 74-71.
Both sides traded the lead back-and-forth over the course of the first 10 minutes of the contest before Maine established a solid lead at 9:26 as they held a seven-point advantage at 22-15.
The Black Bears pushed their lead up to double-digits heading into the final media timeout of the first half at 30-20
UAlbany chipped slightly into the Black Bear lead heading into halftime as Maine continued to lead at 34-26.
Peter Filipovity led all scorers with 12 points as he shot 6-for-7 from the field.
Quion Burns had seven points off the bench and Kristians Feierbergs chipped in with four points off the bench to round out the top-three scorers in the first half for Maine.
UAlbany started off the second half by cutting the deficit in half as it became a 40-36 contest at the first media timeout.
The Great Danes got the score within three points before the Black Bears surged and pushed the lead back to double-digits at 62-52 with 4:24 remaining in the half.
UAlbany tied the contest up at 64-64 with 20 seconds left to force overtime.
Maine battled back in overtime as they picked up the victory, 74-71.
Filipovity ended the night with 20 points and seven rebounds.
Tynes finished with 14 points, three assists, two steals and three blocks.
Burns (11), AJ Lopez (7) and Feierbergs (6) combined for 24 points off the bench for Maine.
Maine (14-16, 6-9 AE) returns to Orono to conclude the regular season on Tuesday, Mar. 5 against UMass Lowell. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 P.M. with the Senior Day Ceremony scheduled to begin at 5:45 P.M.
