Orono, Maine - Elise Morphy and
Ann-Frederique Guay of the University of Maine women's ice hockey team earned weekly awards, Hockey East announced Tuesday.
Senior captain
Elise Morphy earned Hockey East's Defender of the Week award, for the second time this season, after a four-point weekend. Morphy tallied an assist in Friday's loss against #4 Colgate and picked up three more assists in Saturday's 6-3 win over Robert Morris University. Morphy has been a crucial piece to the Black Bears' defensive core this season registering eight assists in 18 games so far.
Graduate forward
Ann-Frederique Guay was named Hockey East's player of the week after scoring five points over the weekend. Guay scored a goal and an assist in the contest with #4 Colgate and had two goals and an assist in the win against Robert Morris University. After the weekend, Guay has registered eight multiple-point games this season. She is currently on a four-game point streak and leads the Black Bears in goals with 16 total. This is
