ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team skated to a 1-1 tie with #14 Northeastern Saturday at Alfond Arena.

The Huskies struck first just six minutes into the game with a goal from forward Avery Anderson. About seven minutes later, Maine's Sam Morrison deflected in a shot from Kennedy Little for her first collegiate goal. Linemate Lily Fetch also tallied an assist on the lone goal.

The Black Bears outshot the Huskies 32-24, with senior goaltender Jorden Mattison making 23 saves.

After a scoreless overtime period, the Huskies picked up the extra point in the three-player shootout.

UP NEXT
The Black Bears hit the road for two conference games Jan. 19/20. Friday's game is set for 2:00 PM at UConn, with Saturday's game set for 4:00 PM at Merrimack College.
