Terre Haute, Ind. -- The University of Maine men's cross country team placed fifth out of 18 teams at the John McNichols Invitational with 161 points.
Maine was paced by
Evan Thornton-Sherman who finished 10th out of 257 participants with a time of 24:30.
Luke Marsanskis followed close behind, finishing 11th just one second (24:31) behind Thornton-Sherman.
Alec Troxell came home 31st as he crossed the line at 25:16.
The Black Bears return to action when they compete at the 'Battle in Beantown' on Sept. 29.
