Men’s Track and Field Earn Four Medals in Day One America East Outdoor Championships

Albany, NY - The University of Maine track and field team brought home four medals from day one of the America East Outdoor Championships. Maine currently sits in third place with 35 points on six of 22 events scored.

Lewis Roebuck earned first place overall in the hammer throw with a mark of 58.33m. Nathan Holst-Grubbe was right behind him placing second with a throw of 57.59m.

Maine added two bronze medals from Jason Santa Cruz and Alec Troxell in their respective events. Santa Cruz in the javelin (61.59m) and Troxell in the 10000m with a time of 30:59.52 which also placed him seventh on Maine's all-time top-10 list.

The Black Bears had more strong performances from Nick Brown who placed sixth in the pole vault (4.25m) and Elijiah White who placed seventh in the long jump (7.10m).

The Black Bears return for day two tomorrow beginning at 9:00 a.m.
