Smithfield, RI - The University of Maine men's track and field team placed fourth at the Black & Gold Invitational earning 74 points.
Cole Martin led the way for the Black Bears placing first in the 100m with a time of 10.65 which also placed Martin second on Maine's all-time top-10 list.
In the 200m Martin had another strong performance placing sixth (22.06). Josh Sewell was not far behind, placing eighth with a time of 22.47.
The men had another first place finish in the 4 X 400 relay Ben Cotton, Colin Jones, Ralph Cruz, Cole Martin came in at a time of 42.27 for Maine.
Ben Cotton placed second in the long jump with a mark of 6.34m.
In the discus, Marek Veal earned fourth (45.94m)and Nathan Holst-Grubbe placed sixth (44.99m).
Jason Santa Cruz finished with a mark of 57.68m in the Javelin earning him seventh place.
Zachary Beaton had two strong performances placing ninth in the 400m (51.44) and also coming in tenth in the high jump (1.85m).
