PREVIEW: Track and Field Travel to Bryant for Black & Gold Invitational

Orono, ME - The University of Maine track and field men's and women's team travel to America East opponent Bryant for the Black & Gold Invitational on March 31 beginning at 1:00 p.m. and April 1 at 9:00 a.m.


Notable Performances 

  • Maine is coming off many notable performances at the Raleigh Relays, including Alec Troxell setting a new University of Maine record in the 5000 M run with a time of 14:08.32 placing forty-first.
  • Evan Thornton-Sherman became second on Maine's Top-10 All-Time list right behind Troxell in the 5000 M placing sixty-first (14:16.94).
  • Mackenzie Wilson moved up to fourth on Maine's Top-10 All-Time list in the hammer throw, placing fifth in the meet with a mark of 59.78m.
  • Yasmen Farag placed the highest of all Black Bears at the Raleigh Relays finishing in second in the pole vault with a 3.55m mark.
  • The men also had strong performances in the hammer throw with Lewis Roebuck placing fifteenth (56.96m) and Nathan Holst-Grubbe finishing nineteenth (55.38m).
  • Holst-Grubbe also earned a fourteenth place finish in the discus with a mark of 48.04m
  • Julia Feid earned a tenth place finish in the javelin with a ending mark of 43.22m.
