Men’s Track and Field Place Second at New England Championships

Boston, MA - The University of Maine men's track and field team placed second at the New England Championships earning 56 points.

Cole Martin led the Black Bears on Friday afternoon earning first in the 60 dash with a time of 6.81.

Eamon Sweeny and Evan Thornton-Sherman each placed second in their respective events. Sweeny completed the 60 hurdles in 8.15 and Thornton-Sherman finished the 3000m run in 8:18.50.

Alec Troxell also had a strong performance in the 3000m run coming in just after Thornton-Sherman placing third with a time of 8:18.88.

Zachary Beaton earned fourth place in the heptathlon with 4452 points.

Jonathan Prell and Myles Quiron each had impressive finishes for Maine. Prell earned twelfth in the shot put with a mark of 15.19m. Quirion completed the one mile run in 4:25.63 earning him fourteenth.
