Boston, MA - The University of Maine track and field team earned one gold medal, two silver, and three bronze medals on day one of the America East Indoor Championships.

For the Men:

• Maine currently sits in third place with five of 20 events scored with 33 points.
• Evan Thornton-Sherman earned a gold medal for Maine in the 5000m with a time of 14:28.30. Thornton-Sherman also moved into sixth in Maine's All-Time Top-10 list.
• Nathan Holst-Grubbe brought home a silver medal in the weight throw with a mark of 17.92m and earned the fourth spot in Maine's All-Time Top-10 list. Ryker Brown came in right behind him in the weight throw with a mark of 17.48m, earning him the bronze medal and moving to seventh in Maine's All-Time Top-10 List.
• Gavin McGarrity and Lewis Roebuck each also had impressive performances in the weight throw. McGarrity ended in fifth (16.35m) and Roebuck placed seventh (16.23m).
• In the pole vault, Nick Brown earned sixth place with a mark of 4.15m.
• Ben Cotton finished with a mark of 6.62m in the long jump earning him ninth.

• Maine currently sits in fifth place with six of 20 events scored with 26 points.
• Mackenzie Wilson brought home a silver medal for the Black Bears in the weight throw with a mark of 19.39m. Wilson also broke her own record as first on Maine's All-Time Top-10 list.
• Emma White earned a bronze medal in the Pentathlon finishing with a score of 3201.
• Yasmen Farag brought home the last medal of the day for Maine. Farag placed third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.51m.
• Cheyenne Figueroa had an impressive performance in the weight throw. Throwing to a mark of 18.75m earning fourth place.
• In the 4000 Distance Relay Maine added one point earning 8th with a time of 12:41.80 ran by Marlee Yoder, Kelcie Horst, Tegan Morrison, and Rachel Hodge.
