Men's Swim & Dive Set Multiple Records on Day One of Maine State Meet

Waterville, Maine -- Cam Watelet set Maine's 50-yard freestyle school record to lead the Black Bears on day one of the Maine State Meet.
The Black Bears sit in fourth place out of seven teams with 176 points after one day of competition at Colby College.
Watelet set Maine's new school record mark in the 50-yard freestyle during the first leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay. Watelet swam his leg in a record breaking time of 20.48. Watelet also added a runner-up showing in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 23.44. Ian Mallari tied for seventh in the 50 backstroke at 24.88.
Nick Partridge won the 50-yard breaststroke with a meet and pool record time of 25.58.
Finn Devers placed sixth in the 200 IM, touching the wall at 1:56.65.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Watelet, Devers, Partridge, and Kaden Kilger took the bronze with a final time of 1:23.43.
Maine's mixed 400-yard medley relay team of Madison Edwards, Nick Partridge, Cam Watelet, and Kilger took the gold in the event with a meet and pool record time of 1:36.77.
