Watelet sets school-record in 100 IM at Maine State Meet

Black Bears finish fourth at the event

Waterville, Maine -- Cam Watelet set a new school record with a mark of 52.33 in the 100-yard IM as the Black Bears placed fourth overall with 590 points on Saturday afternoon.

Watelet, who placed third in the 100 IM with his new school record time (52.33), was followed by Finn Devers who placed fourth in the event at 46.62. Devers' mark also broke the previous school record time in the event. Devers added a fourth place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 46.62.

Maine took first and second on the 3-meter boards with Riley Clark winning the event (258.05) and DJ Mulligan taking second (240.0).

Maine placed two in the top-5 of the 200-yard butterfly as Calvin Comeau (4th - 1:56.61) and Connor Peaden (5th - 1:58.06) took the honors.

Nate Teerlinck finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke at 2:11.66 while Matthew Bendoraitis placed third in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:52.91.

Kaden Kilger touched the wall seventh win the 1650 freestyle with a time of 16:45.22.

The team of Watelet, Kilger, Julian Lapietra, and Devers finished fourth in the 400 freestyle with a time of 3:05.95.
