Desmond promoted to Associate AD for Revenue Generation

Orono, Maine – University of Maine Director of Athletics Jude Killy has announced the promotion of Logan Desmond to Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation.

"Logan had been promoted to interim associate athletic director before I started," Killy says. "It quickly became apparent through his work and collaboration that the temporary title should be removed. It also became apparent we should maximize Logan's skill set to advance support for our student-athletes. He is not just a valued member and teammate to our athletic senior leadership team, but to the entire UMaine community. We are all excited to see Logan embrace this role."

As associate athletic director for revenue generation, Desmond will oversee all ticket office operations, event management, facilities scheduling and rentals, and the Van Wagner multimedia rights team. Desmond will also serve as a liaison to UMaine's auxiliary enterprise and the sports management academic program as well as the duties of sport administrator for the softball and women's soccer programs.

"I could not be more grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the University that I love," Desmond says.  "I would like to thank Jude for his leadership and I look forward to tackling the challenges that this role will bring.  I am excited to continue working with our great staff to find new ways to support our student-athletes and to push the vision of the department forward."

Desmond ('14) began his tenure at the University of Maine in 2017 when he joined the ticket operations team. In 2018, Desmond was promoted to director of ticket operations where he oversaw all aspects of the Maine Athletics ticket system. In 2021, he was the recipient of the Presidential Black Bear Award for Extraordinary Impact as he played a key role in UMaine's return to campus post-Covid by helping to adapt the Paciolan ticketing software to be used for Covid testing tickets.

During his five years as director of ticket operations, Desmond spearheaded the University's implementation of Paciolan. This transition provided a vastly improved customer experience while also creating increased flexibility and sales capabilities for the University. Under his leadership, the ticket staff has surpassed many sales goals including record sales for football and men's ice hockey premium seating.
