Orono, Maine - Fifth-year forward
Ida Kuoppala of the University of Maine women's ice hockey team was named the Player of the Week, Hockey East announced Monday.
Ida Kuoppala scored the game-tying and game-winning goals to lift Maine past Providence College in Friday's 4-3 comeback-win. Kuoppala (7g, 4a) currently leads Hockey East in goals scored and total points with 11. She is also currently tied for fourth in the nation for goals scored.
This is Kuoppala's second time this season being named Player of the Week. The last time was Oct. 11, 2023.
Kuoppala and the Maine Black Bears return to Hockey East play when they host to Boston University for a 6 p.m. puck drop on Friday, Oct. 27.
