Women's Ice Hockey Falls in Game Two at Providence

Providence, Rhode Island - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team fell to Providence College in the second game of the series by a score of 3-2.

Providence struck first when Audrey Knapp snuck one behind Maine netminder Juila Bachetti.

The Friars continued to build on the one-goal lead adding two more goals early in the second period. Similarly to Friday's matchup, Maine turned up the energy to combat the three-goal deficit. Ann-Frederique Guay put the Black Bears on the board, shelfing the puck on a power play opportunity. Alyssa Wruble and Elise Morphy picked up the assists. Ann-Frederique Guay struck again on a penalty shot, just over one minute left in the second period.
The third period was scoreless, but came with many chances for the Black Bears, especially in the last two minutes when they pulled the goalie for an extra attacker.

Julia Bachetti made 30 saves on 33 shots for Maine.
