Bronx, N.Y. -- The University of Maine men's cross country team placed seventh out of a 34 team field at the IC4A Championships at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday afternoon.
The Black Bears, who were the top placing America East team, completed the event with 263 points.
Maine was led by the trio of
Evan Thornton-Sherman,
Luke Marsanskis, and
Alec Troxell. Thornton-Sherman paced Maine with a 15th place finish at 24:23.1 while Marsanskis placed 29th at 24:39.4. Troxell came home 32nd with a final time of 24:40.5.
Maine returns to action on Oct. 27 when it hosts the America East Championships at Penobscot Valley Country Club.
