Women's Track & Field place fifth at UMass

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine women's track & field team placed fifth with 29.50 points in a meet with UMass, Dartmouth, New Hampshire, UMass Lowell, Northeastern, UConn, and Vermont in Amherst, Mass. Ashley Martinez (high jump), Yasmen Farag (pole vault), and Erica Magnuson (discus) led the way as each tallied third place showings in their respective events.
Martinez continued her impressive spring in the high jump, placing third in the event after clearing 1.61m. Yasmen Farag tied for third in the pole vault with a mark of 3.40m while Erica Magnuson added a bronze in the discus at 40.55. Magnuson chipped in a sixth place finish in the hammer with a throw of 46.56.
Darcy Cochran came home fourth in the 100m hurdle with a final time of 14.99 while Emma White placed fifth in the triple jump at 11.38m.
Pauge Boudreau added a fifth place mark of 12.45m in the shot put while Kendall Willard's throw of 35.98 placed her fifth in the javelin event.
Lydia Gilmore led the way for Maine in the distance event, placing sixth in the 5000m at 18:39.39.
