ORONO, ME - The Hockey East association announced on Monday afternoon that University of Maine women's ice hockey defender, Taylor Leech, was named the conferences Defender of the Week for her performance against Boston College in the 2-1 victory on Friday afternoon.

Leech, a Graduate Student out of Bowdoinham, Maine, scored the game-winning score in the Maine's 2-1 victory over the Boston College Eagles in the Hockey East quarterfinals on Friday, Feb. 25. Her score, a power play goal, was her fifth of the season and it came with 4:27 left in the second period.

Maine, who advances to the semifinals for the fourth time in the past five seasons, will face the Northeastern Huskies on Wednesday, March 2. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:30 P.M. on NESN.
