Martinez wins high jump title at America East Indoor Championships

Black Bears place 7th overall
Boston, Mass. -- Ashley Martinez captured the high jump title as the Black Bears placed seventh overall with 50.5 points at the 2022 America East Indoor Championships.
Martinez, who entered competition ranked first in the league in the high jump, earned the championship in the event with a final mark of 1.65m. Katherine Cowan added a top-10 finish in the event for Maine, placing eighth at 1.60m.
Tegan Morrison finished sixth in the 500m with a time of 1:17.34. Her final time improved her previous top-10 all-time mark, moving her into sixth on Maine's top-10 list. Darcy Cochran added a sixth place finish with a time of 9.31 in the 60m hurdle.
Emma White also earned a top-10 finish at the event, finishing ninth in the triple jump with a leap of 11.53m.
Maine placed eighth, ninth, 10th, and 11th in the shot put and was led by Paige Boudreau's eighth place mark of 12.18m in the event. Rebekah Hunnewell-Dunphe finished ninth at 12.16m, followed by Shanna Scribner (10th-12.04m) and Elaina Panagakos (11th - 11.74m.).
Alexa Brennan came home ninth in the mile, crossing the line at 5:22.09. Lydia Gilmore was Maine's top finisher in the 3000m, placing ninth at 10:13.09. Marlee Yoder followed Gilmore in the event, placing 20th at 10:39.42.
