ORONO, ME - The Hockey East Association announced on Monday afternoon that university of Maine forward,
Celine Tedenby, was named the conference co-player of the week for her performance against the UNH Wildcats on Friday, Feb. 17 and Saturday, Feb 18.
Tedenby, a native of Örnsköldsvik, Sweden, had an incredible weekend for the Black Bears, totaling 5-points across two games against the UNH Wildcats en route to a 2-0 sweep for the Black Bears, 4-1 Friday and 5-0 Saturday.
Tedneby scored a pair of goals, the first and fourth, for the Black Bears on Friday. She then followed up with a 3-assist game on Saturday.
She earned co-player of the week honors with Theresa Schafzahl of the University of Vermont.
With the weekend sweep, the Black Bears earned the 5-seed in the Hockey East playoffs, punching their ticket for a trip to Boston College on Friday, Feb. 25 for a matchup with the Eagles. The playoff format is one and done.
Puck drop is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. for Tedenby and the rest of the Black Bears.
