Cotton, Sweeney post top-10 marks at Army

West Point, N.Y. -- Ben Cotton (60m) and Eamon Sweeney (60m hurdle) each posted Maine Indoor Top-10 marks as the Black Bears competed in the West Point Tune-Up at Army.
Cotton's time of 6.95 in the 60m dash was good for fourth on Maine's all-time top-10 list and placed him as the runner-up in the event on Saturday. Cotton added a third place showing in the 200m with a time of 22.79. Sweeney moved up his all-time ranking in the 60m hurdle with a fourth all-time mark of 8.44, good for fifth in the event on Saturday.
James Olivier captured Maine's lone individual victory on the day as he won the 800m with a time of 1:54.24. Conner Michaud was the runner-up in the 500m with a final time of 1:07.60.
The Black Bears also found the podium in the high jump, long jump, and the shot put. Zachary Beaton earned the bronze in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m while adding an eighth place finish in the 60m hurdle at 8.80. Elijah White came home third in the long jump, besting 6.51m in the event, while Sebastian Osborne added a third place finish in the shot put with a throw of 15.61m.
Elijah Caret placed fourth in the 3000m, crossing the line at 8:46.91, while Ryker Brown's shot throw of 15.02m was also good for fourth. Dawson Desrosiers added a fifth place mark in the 800m at 1:58.73.
Andrew Munroe wa Maine's top placer in the 400m, finishing ninth at 52.69, and added an eighth place mark in the 200m at 23.55. Fisher Macklin placed seventh in the mile at 4:27.26 while Ryan Gendron cleared 1.85m in the high jump to place fifth.
William Green was the top Black Bear in the pole vault, clearing 4.25m for fifth, while Cameron Hughes throw of 14.48m in the weight throw was good for seventh.
