Orono, Maine - The University of Maine women's cross country team had a strong 2022 season with six meets and facing off against dozens of schools.

Rachel Hodge was the second female Black Bear finisher in the Battle of Beantown Meet placing 133 in the 5K race with a time of 19:44. Kayla Raymond also had a good season including placing 33 at the Sanchez Souther Invitational with a time of 24:13.57.
Rachel Hodge gave her thoughts on the season as a whole:Â
"I think it was a big growing year for the girls team. With having Coach Ward start after the summer we had to trust him and he had to trust us very quickly. I would say overall it went smoothly and we all bought in and had a really strong season and America East showing. A lot of good times were put down, and we have a vision to only get faster and better as a team."
