NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. -- The University of Maine men's ice hockey team was defeated by the #19 Merrimack College Warriors, 1-0, on Friday afternoon at Lawler Rink.

First Goal (1-0 #19 Merrimack): After
Victor Ostman saved a Warriors shot, Matt Copponi tipped home the rebound. Left unmarked on Ostman's weak side, Copponi had no issue giving his squad a very early 1-0 advantage.

The second and third period were played to a scoreless tie. Merrimack's goal at the 12:24 mark of the first period would be the only and game winning goal of the Friday night Hockey East bout in North Andover.

Notes: Victor Ostman saved 23 shots in net for the Black Bears, while Hugo Ollas recorded 33 saves between the pipes for #19 Merrimack.

Maine went 0 for 3 on the power play, as the Warriors were 0-3 on its player advantages.
