
Roebuck and Osborne Shine in UMaine Open Invitational

ORONO, Maine - The University of Maine track and field team hosted the University of Maine Open Invitational, a non-scoring meet, in the New Balance Maine Fieldhouse on Sunday afternoon.
Lewis Roebuck, with his throw of 16.99 meters, moved into the top 10 of UMaine's all-time weight throw list. The toss also landed him a first place finish, as well.
Sebastian Osborne set a personal best distance of 16.20 meters in the shot put. The personal best was also the furthest of the event.
Ryan Gendron grabbed a first place finish in the men's high jump by clearing a mark of 1.85 meters.
In the 400 meter dash, Owen Mild edged out his competition with a mark of 52.27 seconds. It was one of many first place finishes for the Black Bears.
Kyle Jacques snagged first place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.23 seconds.
Alec Troxell, 8:26.12, and Samuel Mills, 8:35.34, placed first and second, respectively, in the 3000 meter run.
Cameron Hughes finished in second place in the weight throw with a distance of 14.90 meters.
Ben Cotton placed first in both the long jump, 6.83 meters, and 60 meter dash, 7.00 seconds.
Kamudala Crispin jumped 13.08 meters in the triple jump. His efforts netted him first place. The sophomore also finished in fourth place, 6.56 meters, in the long jump.
In the mile run, Fisher Macklin crossed the finish line first with a time of 4:33.62.
The team of Fisher Macklin, Connor Coffin, Alec Troxell, and Tristram Coffin posted an impressive time of 9:08.17 in the 4x800 meter relay. The time was more than enough for first place.
