Men's Track & Field compile 11 victories at UMaine Open Invitational

Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's track & field team tallied 11 victories on Saturday at the UMaine Open Invitational, hosted at the New Balance Field House.
Eamon Sweeney scored two individual victories and was a member of the runner-up 4x200 relay team. Sweeney took first place in the 400m at 52.56 before winning the 60m hurdle event at 8.62. Griffin Lawson was the runner-up in the 60m hurdle with a time of 8.69. Lawson's time of 8.36 in the prelim of the event was good for second on Maine's top-10 list while Sweeney's prelim mark of 8.50 was good for sixth on the top-10 leaderboard.
Andrew Munroe took gold in the 200m at 23.50 while Conner Michaud scored a win in the 500m with a time of 1:08.02. Dawson Desrosiers won the 800m with a final time of 1:59.63 while Michael O'Clair took runner-up honors in the 500m at 1:12.04.
The Black Bears took first and second in the mile with Myles Quirion winning the event at 4:32.15. Fisher Macklin was the runner-up in the event, crossing the line at 4:37.32.
Maine swept the pedestal in the 3000m with Tristram Coffin winning the event at 8:54.69. Elijah Caret took the silver at 8:55.40 followed by James Fahey in third at 8:56.22.
Maine also swept the top three marks in each of the two throwing events. Sebastian Osborne won the shot put at 16.05m, following by Joshua Bradford in second with a throw of 15.77m and Jonathan Prell third at 15.55m. Prell was also the runner-up in the weight throw with a toss of 14.91m. Lewis Roebuck won the weight throw with a toss of 15.68m while Cameron Hughes placed third at 14.73m.
Kamundala Crispin won the triple jump at 13.13m and placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.56m. Ryan Gendron was the runner-up in the high jump, clearing 1.90m, while William Green took second in the pole vault at 4.30m.
The Black Bears won the 4x800 relay with a winning time of 8:56.34. Running the event for Maine was O'Clair, Macklin, Connor Coffin, and Quirion.
The team of Lawson, Sweeney, Munroe, and Michaud took second in the 4x200 with a time of 1:35.19; the third best time in Maine indoor school history.
