Farag, Cochran post top-10 all-time marks in non-scoring event at Bates College

LEWISTON, Maine - The University of Maine women's track and field team competed in a non-scoring meet at Bates College on Friday and Saturday afternoon. Multiple athletes placed within the top five of virtually every event. The Black Bears posted a pair of top-10 all-time marks with Jass Farag clearing 3.55m, good for fourth on Maine's all-time top-10 list, and Darch Cochran's time of 9.22 in the 60m hurdle tying her for 10th on the all-time top-10 list.
In the 200 meter finals, Kelcie Horst finished with a time of 27.64, which was good enough for first place. Grace Minkin cleared 17' 2" in the long jump finals, which was enough for first place.
Kayla Raymond and Jass Farag both posted times good enough for second place finishes in each of their respective events. Raymond, 800 meter, posted a time of 2:27.54, and Farag, pole vault, cleared 11' 7.75".
Jessica Kroushl posted a time of 8.12 to finish third in the 60 meter finals. Rachel Hodge also finished third in her event. The sophomore ran a 19:41.58 in the 5000 meter finals.
Tegan Morrison, also a member of the women's soccer team, grabbed a fourth place finish in the 600 meter finals.
In the high jump finals, Ashley Martinez's mark of 5' 3.25" was enough for second place and was followed by Katherin Cowan, 4' 11.5", in fourth place.
The triple long jump was dominated by the Black Bears. Emma White finished first and was ultimately followed by Minkin in third, Oliviah Damboise in fourth, and Martinez in fifth place.
As was the case in the triple long jump, Maine posted four athletes in the top five. Paige Boudreau clear 39' 6.5" for second place, Elaina Panagakos settled into third was a mark of 38' 9", Claudia Damboise finished fourth at 36' 8.5", and former softball player, Shanna Scribner, snagged fifth with a 36' 2.25" mark.
First and second place were both Black Bears in the weight throw finals. Erica Magnuson grabbed first with a total of 51' 10.5", and Mackenzie Wilson finished close behind in second with a mark of 50'1.25".
