Orono, Maine -- University of Maine quarterback
Joe Fagnano has been named the Colonial Athletic Association Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday, March 15.
Fagnano led Maine to a 38-34 victory over No. 13 UAlbany on Saturday at Alfond Stadium. Fagnano finished the contest 17-of-29 for 249 yards and four passing touchdowns. The sophomore was also Maine's leading rusher with 51 yards and a touchdown on 13 attempts. The five touchdown day marked the second time in his career in which he's totaled five scores as Fagnano threw for five touchdowns in 2019 at Liberty. Fagnano's 10-yard touchdown pass to
Andre Miller with 3:58 remaining in regulation proved to be the game-winner.
Fagnano shares the Player of the Week honor with Rhode Island's Kevin Brown Jr. who rushed for 141 yards and four touchdowns in the Rams' 40-37 overtime victory over No. 6 Villanova.
The Black Bears return to action on Saturday, March 23 when they travel to take on Stony Brook at noon.
