Women's Track & Field Places Third at Dartmouth

Hanover, N.H. -- The University of Maine women's track & field team placed third with 116 points in its meet at Dartmouth with the Big Green, New Hampshire, and Vermont on Saturday afternoon. Darcy Cochran (60m hurdles) and Yasmen Farag (pole vault) each scored first place tallies for the Black Bears.
Cochran, who won the 60m hurdles in 9.20, was followed by three other Black Bears as Maine took the top four spots in the event. Katherine Cowan placed second at 9.23, following by Emma White (9.81) and Erica Lawson (9.87).
Farag cleared 3.65m to capture first place honors in the pole vault.
White added a runner-up showing in the triple jump with a leap of 10.76m while placing sixth in the 800m with a time of 2:33.77.
Cowan added her second runner-up finish of the day with a second place showing in the high jump, clearing 1.65m. Ashley Martinez placed fifth in the high jump at 1.60m.
Maine added three more fourth place finishes in the running events. Jessica Kroushl placed fourth in the 60m dash at 8.03 while Alexa Brennan came in fourth in the mile at 5:31.16. Lydia Gilmore chipped in a fourth place performance in the 3000m, crossing the line at 10:45.14. Grace Minkin placed fourth in the triple jump at 10.57m.
Erica Magnuson took second in the weight throw with a toss of 17.13m and was followed by Mackenzie Wilson in the event who placed third at 16.72m.
