WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Hockey East announced Monday that University of Maine senior goaltender Loryn Porter has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week after she recorded 37 saves and a shutout for the Black Bears during their 2-0 victory on Sunday at Boston University.
 
The North Bay, Ontario, native tallied 65 saves on the weekend in Boston, Massachusetts. Porter's 37 save performance was her sixth 30 save game and first shutout of the season. This is Porter's second conference award of the 2020-21 season.
 
The Hockey East is set to announce the schedule on Tuesday, January 26th.
