BOSTON - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team fell to Boston University on Saturday, as the two teams battled to a 1-0 finish behind a pair of solid goaltending performances for both the Black Bears and the Terriers.
An early second period goal from Boston proved to be all they needed, as Maine failed to notch a goal throughout twenty shots on goal and four power plays.
Loryn Porter made 28 saves, but Corinne Schroeder made 20 for Boston and their defensive unit blocked 16 shots to pitch the shutout.
Maine falls to 4-6 with the loss, and will look to earn a series split against the Terriers at 3:00 tomorrow.
