Orono, Maine — The University of Maine basketball programs will begin hosting home events at Memorial Gymnasium starting with the men's basketball series against New Hampshire on Jan. 2-3.

The women's basketball program will begin its home slate when it hosts NJIT on Jan. 9-10.

After a full review of the America East Health & Safety Return to Competition Protocols, and working to comply with University of Maine System and Maine state guidance, UMaine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy has determined that the Athletics Department can proceed to conduct basketball competition in The Pit at Memorial Gymnasium.

No spectators or media will be present for basketball games this season, and only essential personnel, participating student-athletes, and team staff will be allowed access to the playing facility on game day.

All conference games will be video streamed on ESPN+ or ESPN3. Radio coverage will be provided on the Black Bears Sports Network locally on either 96.1 FM or 94.1 FM and worldwide at GoBlackBears.com.
