WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Hockey East announced Monday that University of Maine senior goaltender
Loryn Porter has been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week after she recorded 33 saves for the Black Bears during their 2-1 victory at #7 Providence.
The North Bay, Ontario, native tallied 70 saves on the weekend in Providence, Rhode Island. Porter's 33 save performance was her third 30 save game of the season. This is Porter's first conference award of the 2020-21 season.
Maine is scheduled to play two games against Hockey East rival, Vermont, on January 8th and 9th.
