Orono, Maine – UMaine Athletics and KeyBank are proud to partner together to launch the KeyBank Assists campaign. The campaign, officially launching on Monday, Nov. 30, is focused on supporting small businesses, families, and food banks throughout our local community at a time when they need this support perhaps more than ever.
UMaine men's basketball assistant coach
Edniesha Curry is proud to represent the Black Bears and KeyBank as UMaine's official local influencer for the KeyBank Assists campaign. Curry joined the Black Bears as, at the time, the only woman serving as a full-time assistant coach in NCAA Division I men's basketball. On behalf of Coach Curry, KeyBank will make a $5,000 donation to the American Cancer Society in Maine, a charity near and dear to Coach Curry. In addition, KeyBank will make a $12,500 contribution to the Good Shepherd Food Bank.
Part of the small business support will feature gift card giveaways in which KeyBank will purchase $2,500 in gift cards from five women-and minority-owned small businesses in KeyBank's footprint for a 'random act of kindness' giveaway, or consumer surprise and delight. Along with this act, a QR code will be provided to allow the recipients of the gift cards to 'pay it forward' if they wish. This QR code will direct people to a microsite where they can choose to make a donation of their own to benefit Good Shepherd Food Bank.
The Black Bears are proud to join KeyBank in providing support for our local communities as well as pledging to support multiple charitable organizations through the state of Maine.
