Bangor, Maine -- Kelly Fogarty set the UMaine school-record with nine 3-point field goals lead the Black Bears to a 104-43 victory over Husson on Wednesday evening.

Fogarty, who finished with a career-high 31 points, led six Black Bears in double-figures. Her nine 3-point field goals broke the old school record (8) set last year by her former teammate and current assistant coach, Parise Rossignol.

Dor Saar (11 points/14 assists) and Abbe Laurence (12 points/10 rebounds) each registered double-doubles as four Black Bears recorded career-high point totals. Fogarty and Laurence, who also added a career-high seven assists in the win, each tallied career-high scoring efforts while Maddy McVicar (19) and Anna Kahelin (10) also set career-bests. Anne Simon rounded out Maine's six double-digit scorers, chipping in 11 points and five assists.

Saar's 14 assists matched the UMaine school-record, set by Julia Treadwell against New Brunswick in 1983.

As a team, the Black Bears matched the school-record with 16 made 3-point field goals as they finished the evening 16-of-32 from beyond the arc. In total, Maine finished 42-of-69 (60.9) for its best shooting percentage of the season, both from long range and overall from the field.

The Black Bears assisted on 32 of their 42 baskets, just two shy of matching the all-time school record for assists in a game (34), set in 1983-84. As impressive as they were on the defense, Maine forced 23 Husson turnovers, outscoring the Eagles 35-0 in points off turnovers.

Maine was able to build a respectable, 37-26 lead at the half, before outscoring the Eagles 67-17 over the final 20 minutes of play. The Black Bears shot 13-of-20 from the floor, 6-of-10 from 3-point range, in the third period before turning in an 82.4-percent shooting mark in the fourth quarter, hitting 14-of-17 from the field and 4-of-6 from downtown, to reach the century mark for the first time since Dec. 8, 2018 when it tallied 102 points in an overtime win against Brown. The point total also marked the first time the Black Bears reached 100 total points in a regulation contest since doing so on Nov. 16, 2017, totaling 100 points in a win over UMaine Fort Kent.

Fogarty registered 23 of her game-high 31 points in the second half, including 12 in the third quarter alone on 4-for-5 shooting from 3-point range. Maine, leading 38-26, opened the third quarter with an 11-0 run as McVicar's bucket in the paint built the lead to 23.

A 12-2 run by the Black Bears followed as the lead swelled to 31 late in the third on fast break triple by Fogarty. The junior sharpshooter hit three-straight treys to close out the third, sending Maine into the fourth with a 70-37 cushion.

Maine opened the fourth with a 26-6 run as Fogarty's record-breaking triple pushed Maine's lead out to 53.

The Black Bears cruised the rest of the way, scoring the final eight points of the game to seal a 104-43 victory. In total, Maine was able to outscore Husson 34-6 in the final quarter.
