Women's Soccer Drops Final Regular Season Game to UAlbany, 4-1

ALBANY, New York -- The University of Maine women's soccer team was defeated by the University of Albany, 4-1, on Sunday afternoon.

First Goal (Maine 1-0): Nicole Bailey hooked up with Saylor Clark for the first goal of the first half. Bailey sent a ball through the Great Danes' defense. Clark gathered and found the back of the net only six minutes in.

Second Goal (1-1): UAlbany's first goal of the afternoon came three minutes after Maine grabbed a very early 1-0 lead. Kendra Harbinger took a shot from outside of the 18-yard box. The shot beat the Maine goaltender low to the left.

Third Goal (UAlbany 2-1): Harbinger took a free kick for the Great Danes. Her free boot was headed in by Meghan Cavanaugh. UAlbany went from trailing to leading the America East contest in less than two minutes of gameplay.

Fourth Goal (UAlbany 3-1): Gina Bracamonte topped off the Great Danes scoring in the first half with a goal of her own. It was the second unassisted Ulbany goal of the initial 45 minutes.

Fifth Goal (UAlbany 4-1): Leah Pais tallied the only score of the second half with a goal halfway through the frame.

The three goal deficit stood as Maine would drop their final game of the 2019 season.

Shots/Keepers: UAlbany held a 29-to-9 in shots, also winning the corner kick battle, 9-1.

Keeper Kira Kutzinski made seven saves in goal, as her Great Dane counterpart, Sophia Chen, tallied 1.

Next: This concludes the 2019 regular season for the Black Bears.
