
Football Adds Midyear Transfer, Ori Jean-Charles

Charles, a tight end, transfers in from Louisville
ORONO, Maine -- Head coach Nick Charlton has announced the addition of midyear transfer Ori Jean-Charles, a tight end from Monsey, N.Y. Jean-Charles, who will be eligible to compete immediately for the Black Bears, spent the past two seasons at Louisville, seeing action in two games on special teams for the Cardinals.
Jean-Charles, a 6-2, 225 pound tight end, was a dual-threat quarterback during his time as a high school star at Spring Valley high school. In his junior season at Spring Valley, Jean-Charles threw for 1,429 yards and 20 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,009 yards and five scores. Following his junior season, he was named to The Journal News Super 11, a list that annually ranks the top football players in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam Counties.
